1 Preferred BMC Helix (Remedy OnDemand) experience or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) tools

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: (Required)
The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of one (1) Technical Writer II hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of a level 2 Technical Writer and the specifications outlined in this document for Texas Health and Human Services (HHS).

The Technical Writer II is an Information Technology (IT) position and will Develop and maintain end user technical documentation, including Knowledge Base Articles. The technical writer will be expected to follow the existing Knowledge Management process, including defined Knowledge Article Authoring Guidelines. Lead the development of content within the business service catalog. This includes partnering with various service owners to create customer-friendly content, and managing the drafting, review, and publication of the content in the catalog application, BMC Helix (Remedy OnDemand) Digital Workplace. Understands the user’s view of applications and/or technology and is able to put procedures in a logical sequence. Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and the production of the document. Solicit and apply peer and SME feedback to ensure clarity, completeness, technical accuracy, and quality of the documentation produced. Other duties as assigned.
WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS (Required)
4 or more years of experience in the technical writing field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
· Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Technical Writing field
· Excellent working knowledge of English grammar and the written language
· Ability to translate technical information into plain language for audiences of all backgrounds
· Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines;
· Ability to prioritize based in urgency
· Experience owning end-to-end product documentation creation and ongoing management of that content
· Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to consult with subject matter experts in other departments
· BA/BS in Technical Communication or related discipline, or at least three years of experience in writing complex documentation for B2B software
