Minimum Requirements:
Years Required/Preferred Experience
6 Required Professional experience in software engineering
4 Required Expert in designing and developing customized Salesforce applications
4 Required Expert in Performing Salesforce administrative tasks such as creating profiles, roles, users, page layouts, email services, approvals, workflows, reports, dashboards
2 Required Expert in designing custom formula fields, field dependencies, validation rules, workflows, and approval processes for automated alerts, field updates, and email generation according to application requirements
2 Required Development Experience in using Visualforce pages, Lightning components, Apex classes, and Apex Triggers, Process and Flow Builder, SOQL, SOSL
2 Required Development experience using HTML, JavaScript or JS Frameworks (Angular, Node), CSS frameworks (Bootstrap), jQuery
2 Required Experience with salesforce.com Web Services APIs including force.com SOAP and REST-based Web Service APIs, the Bulk API, and the Metadata API
2 Required Experience in writing unit test
2 Required Experience in using relational database technologies
2 Required Working knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies
2 Preferred Experience as a participant in agile software development teams
1 Preferred Certified Salesforce Platform Developer I

The DFPS Information Resource Management (IT Division) seeks a worker to join the growing Development team with the primary responsibility to participate in all phases of the technology delivery life-cycle of Salesforce based solutions that consistently deliver business value to our external and internal customers. The agency uses Salesforce, REST APIs, Informatica, Angular, Bootstrap, Spring, Java, and .NET for the projects.
The worker will serve a support role within our Development team and will possess a solid understanding of the Salesforce platform, its best practices, architecture and system integration with other platforms.
This hands-on role is expected to perform advanced job responsibilities such as working in a self-organize team, providing project work estimation, participating in planning, analyzing user requirements, lead design and development of scalable and reusable software, provide automation of build, deployment and testing of systems as well as maintenance of existing systems. This position will be responsible for working closely with the CTO team, DevOps team, project management team, and the program team to develop and deliver world class applications.
The worker will also work in concert with various technical leads (e.g., PMO, CTO, and Systems Development Resources) to prioritize assigned work and develop recommendations, options, and/or alternatives as required. This role is responsible for the following:

Create Salesforce development work in plan, design, development, deployment and maintenance of one or more applications with a focus on configuration (low-code) development and solutions over customization
Collaborate on the technical and architectural direction for the Salesforce software
Collaborate with the CTO team, DevOps team, project management team, and program team in the development and execution of enterprise level strategies and technical direction using Salesforce
Work with product management team in interpretation of business requirements into technical requirements and technical specifications
Collaborate on Salesforce software engineering best practices for the development teams to follow
Assist with process development for code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, continuous integration and continuous deployment practices
Advise on technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
Develop scalable and high available code by following the design principles and software engineering best practices
Maintain and support custom objects, fields, and applications
Create and execute queries and reports, maintain user roles, security and profiles.
Troubleshoot issues, identify system enhancement opportunities and work with the development team to resolve issues
Train new and existing Salesforce users on custom applications
Possess effective verbal and written communications with other computer professionals, clients, and stakeholders
Ability to establish and always maintain effective and professional working relationships with others in the course and scope of conducting business
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information systems, computer engineering or a related field. Work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Familiar with and/or working knowledge of accessibility standards including WCAG 2.0 and TAC Section 508 is a plus
Perform other duties as assigned
