Job Description:
The Healthcare Construction Plan Reviewer is responsible for evaluating electronic construction drawings and specifications for healthcare facilities to ensure compliance with the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) standards and NFPA 101: Life Safety Code. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding patient safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency in healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings for new construction, renovations, and expansions of healthcare facilities.
• Ensure all plans comply with FGI Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities.
• Verify adherence to NFPA 101 requirements, focusing on life safety, egress, fire protection, and occupancy classifications.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to resolve code discrepancies.
• Prepare detailed written reports outlining deficiencies, required corrections, and final approvals.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory changes.
