Onsite Network Engineer with monitoring, routers, firewall, IP submitting, VOIP, MPLS, COS/IOS, ASA, Frontinet, SolarWinds, Splunk experience

Years Required/Preferred Experience
8 Required Degree from a four-year college or university with a major in computer science, electronics, telecommunications, or related field plus a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in telecommunications networks.
8 Required Responsible for installing networking technologies and supporting networks.
8 Required Supports enterprise network IT infrastructure design, implementation, operational maintenance & support. Assesses existing network configurations and makes recommendations based on product and industry specifications.
8 Required Configures equipment and software to meet business needs, trains others on the solution, and documents the solution for ongoing support.
8 Required Functions as part of a team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects.
8 Required Proficient with network monitoring & administration
8 Required Requires experience in the administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.). Hands on experience with IP subnetting, Telnet/SSH Clients, VoIP and MPLS technologies, and Cisco network software (COS/IOS).
8 Required Provides technical support and assists with the design of network solutions.
2 Preferred Texas State Agency network administrator experience
2 Preferred Experience with Cisco ASA and Fortinet firewalls
2 Preferred Proficient with network monitoring & administration tools such as Solar Winds, Splunk, and various Protocol Analyzers and with Microsoft Office suite including Visio.
Responsible for installing networking technologies and supporting networks. Performs highly complex network engineering work. Data engineer that operates, monitors and manages network infrastructure. Responsible for the design, implementation, management and operational support of Network Infrastructure. Assesses existing network configurations and makes recommendations based on product specifications. Configures equipment and software to meet business needs, trains others on the solution, and documents the solution for ongoing support. Functions as part of a team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects. Provides technical support and assists with the design of network solutions. Requires experience in the technical services and support field as well as experience in network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.).
