Onsite Helpdesk Technician with Windows 7/10, network and hardware Experience

Location: Jackson, MS DMH
Duration: 12 months
Onsite required…this is not optional.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Microsoft Office 3+
A working understanding of network and hardware concepts skills. No min
A rational mind and a slow temper are assets as well as the ability to understand a problem or question from the
user’s point of view. No min
The ability to work with and get along with people under different working conditions is a must. No min
The ability to preemptively seek out and solve problems before they become problems is also required. No min
Understanding of software currently being used throughout the Agency. No min
Knowledge of information systems, design, implementation, data collection methods, analysis of data. No min
Knowledge of current technology in data processing with emphasis on databases. No min
High level of dependability and punctuality a must No min
Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must No min

Preference given to candidates with the below skills/experience. Must also meet minimum requirements.
Local candidates highly preferred.

REQUIRED DEGREE:
Four years of an accredited college or technical institution degree in Computer Science, Data
Processing, Business Information systems, or a related field.

Responsible for providing help desk assistance to the end-users on PC software, computer and
peripheral equipment within the DMH Central Office; Configure & deploy new PCs; Upgrade
and reimage existing PCs; Install & maintain operating system software, including new releases
of existing software; Assisting the Information Systems Director in maintaining the DMH Central
Office local area network with assistance from our network maintenance vendor.
