Job Description:

VITA seeking an experienced IT Solutions architect to support various centralized IT Infrastructure sourcing activities and planning efforts. The commodities include End User Services; Server, storage data center services; network services etc.

Need someone who understands complex IT infrastructure solutions, can lead requirements development sessions and draft technical requirements. The infrastructure solutions architect reads the most holistic to the gap they are trying to fill.
• Participate in the strategic sourcing of complex, holistic IT infrastructure solutions for the COV
• Support technical market research efforts during the strategy & planning phase (this includes contributing to Requests for Information, supplier engagement, meet with market research companies, conduct tools demonstrations and clarification sessions as needed
Develop comprehensive requirements for IT solutions for purposes of requests for solicitations for new and existing solutions.
• Lead requirement development sessions that include cross-functional teams to include VITA customers.

Collect business requirements for complex, integrated IT solutions by:
•Interviewing stakeholders (technical, security, architecture and business)
•Reviewing existing solution and contract documents
•Reviewing existing technical architecture documents and specifications documents

Other industry techniques required:
• Re-write existing requirements when/if strategy shift are communicated by leadership
• Review proposals submitted by suppliers from a technical standpoint and provide feedback to cross-functional RFP teams
• Collaborate with implementation and transition teams to build out implementation and transition requirements for RFPs.
• Evaluates and drafts detailed requirements, systems interactions and interdependencies, and project plans required to deploy chosen solutions
• Reviews proposals from a hardware, software and tools standpoint to determine if supplier proposals are possible within the existing system, designs changes based on existing infrastructure in order to meet requirements.
• Review proposals, Evaluate & Analyze networking and computing hardware and software capabilities and makes recommendations for required components to best deliver services.
• In collaboration with cross-functional teams, conduct market research/ studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs.
• Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and summaries regarding solutions for consumption by VITA Leadership, in support of key RFP milestones.
• Must be proficient at the techniques that go into the formulation of architectures, including requirements discovery and analysis, application of abstraction, formulation of solution context, solution alternatives identification and assessment, technology selection, and architectural configuration.
• Extensive understanding and experience in technology areas to include: Devices (PCs, Laptops, tablets) and end user support; Server, storage & Data center services; Network services; High Availability/Disaster Recovery, and IT security.
