Hybrid/Local DW/MDM Data Architect with data governance, data warehouse, Agile experience

Qualifications:
•Experience in all data management verticals, including data governance, data architecture, data quality, master data management, data integration, data warehouse and analytics environment to help lead the long-term data strategy.
•Experience in data warehouse setup, execution and supporting the data availability across the organization
•Experience in building Data analytics environment, creating reports, dashboards and predictive analytics
•Experience in building the Data Quality and Master Data Management processes and driving the adoption across the organization
•Good mix of analytical, technical and communication skills
•Experience in Agile execution strategy
•Minimum 7 years of experience in Data Strategy and Data Governance
This position will be used for the agency’s major project, CITS (Corrections Information Tracking System) and will help establish the data governance process for CITS and the agency. In addition to the experience listed under the Database Architect – Level 2, the following responsibilities and experience are required.
Responsibilities:
•Lead the team to understand the current data environment and define the long-term enterprise data strategy, roadmap for data management and governance program
•Plan and Lead discovery sessions with various stakeholders across the organization to understand the current data environment
•Own the documentation of the current state, data strategy for data management and governance program
•Define the data governance standards and policies, data governance structure and facilitate to implement the same across the agency
•Define Data Stewardship activities, standards for metadata
•Define the process for data access, and data security standards with appropriate controls
•Define the Data Quality program goals, approach and implementation strategy; Execute the same across the business units
•Engage with the executive team to define the data strategy that aligns with the organizational vision and goals
•Engage with all levels of stakeholders across the organization to bring awareness to the data initiatives and drive the adoption
•Evaluat tools for data governance, and data quality; Driving the adoption of the selected tool across the organization
•Work with team to map fields from legacy to CITS
•Aid in transfer of data with Service Bus as needed
•Providing data management across all data management verticals, including data governance, data architecture, data quality, master data management, data integration, data warehouse and analytics for the CITS project.
•Creating a Data analytics environment, creating reports, dashboards and predictive analytics
Additional Information:
The Database Architect will work closely with the TDCJ Data Officer and CITS Data Team throughout the course of the engagement.
The Database Architect must meet the Criminal Justice Information System Security Agreement requirements, be fingerprinted and pass a criminal history background check.
For the first 2 – 4 weeks (negotiable) of the contract The Data Architect will work on site at 815 11th Street in Huntsville, Texas and then will have the opportunity to work a hybrid of work from home, 815 11th Street, Huntsville, or different offices in Austin, Texas as needed.
Work days are based on 8 hours a day excluding weekends and TDCJ holidays unless prior approval is obtained by Data Officer.
Working hours are generally 8 – 5.
Interviews will be conducted utilizing a hybrid approach to accommodate the interviewee. (In person, or Teams).
Project length 2 – 3 years.
