The NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks contractor to assist with the design and implementation of NC Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) reports using Cúram Software, Inc. products. This resource will be responsible for managing the connection servers for the 3 different VDI environments as well as build and maintain ESXi hosts and maintain the VMware environment which has 1200+ VMs and 70+ physical hosts. Duties include working as a team member in a fast-paced environment including required on-call support every other week and occasional weekend/holiday work that can involve travel at any time to troubleshoot any hardware issues in our data centers in Raleigh and Charlotte area. Duties also include resolving user VDI related VM access issues, installing, building and maintaining Red Hat Linux, CentOS and Windows Servers (2016/2019), maintaining Active Directory and the File Servers supporting the current 700+users, and assisting with patch Management for both Linux and Windows based systems. This role will be responsible for proposing and implementing systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system, research, evaluate and recommend software and hardware products, monitor the virtual server infrastructure environment’s health status, and provide new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth.
