The NC DHHS IT Consumer Data Warehouse Technical Architect requires a high degree of business and technical oriented knowledge with significant practical experience in application/information systems development and support activities, which may include but is not limited to, systems analysis, design, modeling, programming, and operations and maintenance support. The employee should have experience in application development tools and techniques. Regular communication with others in both technical and non-technical areas of the department and external business partners is required; therefore, strong interpersonal and technical skills are necessary. In addition to excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to translate business and technical ideas and issues into clear and concise language, this position requires analytical and organization skills. The employee must have experience in direct client contact and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with end users and other internal/external staff.
This position requires technical and analytical work in developing, designing and/or supporting applications for the business, research and/or instructional functions of clients. This employee participates in the development of solutions using programming expertise for day-to-day problems to include maintenance, modification or development of complex inter-related applications/solutions.
This architect should be experienced in supporting applications based on various platforms and technologies such as IBM Mainframe, Windows Server, Sun Solaris (UNIX), MVS, TSO/ISPF, COBOL, JAVA, Unix shell script, JCL, C/C++, SQL query writing, Stored Procedures, SQL Server, Sybase ASIQ, Sybase ASE, Oracle, MS Access, Cache Database, SAS Coding, SAP Business Objects 4.0 or 4.1, SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, DB2, DB Visualizer, FTP, WSFTP, Encryption/Decryption tools, Endevor, Eclipse, Bourne Shell, VPN Solaris, VI Editor, Curl, Visual Safe Source, MQ Series, Fileaid, Word, Excel, IE, and Firefox. Experience with ETL, structured system development methodologies, data transfer and interface methodologies between mainframes and servers and distributed server environments in a statewide environment.
