Remote Azure Cybersecurity DR Planner (CISSP/CCSP/CAP) with migration, NIST/CSF, application/database testing, networking, storage/backup, virtualization, Oracle RAC, SQL Server, WebLogic, RHEL, Kubernetes, DevOps/GitHub experience
Location: St Paul, MN DOT
Duration: 12 months
The work is expected to be done remotely.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Five (5) years’ experience in Cybersecurity Disaster Recovery Strategic Planning role.
oA Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology or related field substitutes for three years of experience, or a Bachelor of Cybersecurity substitutes for two years, or an Associate of Cybersecurity substitutes for one year.
•Three (3) years’ experience designing and implementing DR services within Azure, including planning, testing, cost analysis, and migration strategy planning.
•Two (2) engagements lasting more than six (6) months in Cybersecurity Disaster Recovery Strategic Planning role working specifically with NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Desired Skills
•Experience developing application specific recommendations for Azure Disaster Recovery (DR) tools and services
•Experience developing reports, dashboards, and presentation materials sufficient to communicate DR options and recommendations within Azure
•Demonstrated experience working across senior leadership, business units, and technology groups to present ideas and build consensus
•Experience developing a plan for testing DR plans within Azure, including application and database testing, in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders
•Experience developing and documenting improvement recommendations from any identified weaknesses or points of failure
•Experience in Disaster Recovery Strategic Planning in government
•CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) ISC2 Certified
•CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) ISC2 Certified
•CAP (Certified Authorization Professional) ISC2 Certified
•Solid understanding of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
•Excellent technical documentation and communication skills with the ability to articulate business requirements into new technologies
•Demonstrated understanding of application (ex; Java, .Net, HTML5) and infrastructure (servers, storage, network, cloud, container) technologies, and the techniques and methods available to recover in the event of a disaster
•Solid understanding of technology landscape as it relates to disaster recovery including operating systems, server management, information security, networking, application development, storage and backup, virtualization and/or cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud with a preference for knowledge of Azure)
•Experience developing disaster recovery plans related to:
oOracle (RAC and Enterprise DB) and SQL Server databases
oTomcat, WebLogic middleware
oRHEL, Windows OS
•Experience with container technologies such as Azure Kubernetes
•Experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub
•Demonstrable leadership ability
•Ability to direct & manage DR program development from beginning to end
•Ability to define DR program scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders
•Ability to estimate DR program/project resource requirements and participants needed to achieve goals including changes where necessary
•Ability to establish program/project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and tracking such milestones and deliverables
•Ability to manage changes in DR program/project scope, identify potential crises or issues, and devise contingency plans as appropriate
•Ability to communicate DR program/project plans, expectations, updates, progress, issues, and successes in a timely & clear fashion
Description of Project :
The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) partnering with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) is seeking one full-time resource to provide analysis and recommendations for Azure DR best practices and associated processes in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders.
At a high level, the resource will provide application specific recommendations and plans for utilizing Azure Disaster Recovery (DR) tools and services. The resource will develop reports, dashboards, and presentation materials sufficient to communicate Azure DR options and recommendations. In addition, the resource will identify and document opportunities for where the State could gain DR efficiencies and effectiveness by utilizing Azure DR related services and will develop best practices for testing DR plans in Azure.
