ABOUT THE ROLE
PM needed to provide project management oversight to ensure the coordination of all assigned projects are on time and within budget and scope. This position will oversee multiple projects including technology development and maintenance, COTS implementations, infrastructure enhancements, and security. This position will provide highly-credible leadership to project teams and be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues. This position will also collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value.
Specific Tasks:
-Manage all aspects of assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle to ensure they are completed on time and within scope and budget
-Define, document, and manage project scope, schedule and budget
-Develop, maintain, and distribute standard project management artifacts (i.e. WBS, risk assessments, project charter, RACIs, communication plan, MS schedule, status reports, etc.)
-Ensure applicable project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately
-Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule throughout the project lifecycle
-Align project deliverables and milestones with department’s strategy and objectives
-Manage projects to adhere to the city’s IT Governance process and structure
-Keep leadership and the IT Operations Committee informed of key issues that may impact project completion, budget, or results
-Facilitate project conference calls, status meetings, planning sessions, and provide for meeting notes
-Be a consultant to customers and communicate project status throughout the project lifecycle
-Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues
-Manage project resources, overseeing day-to-day task execution
-Utilizing system based project management applications, collaboration applications, and MS Office applications; SharePoint, MS Project, Teams, etc
City would like the PM to have solid exp with Waterfall methodology (vs Agile).
