Minimum Experience and Knowledge Requirements for Functional Resource(s):• Minimum 5 Years of Information Technology Project Management experience
• Minimum 2 Years of experience working in an established Project Management Office (PMO)
•Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite to include Microsoft Project and/or project management technology tools
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute
3.2 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Knowledge of and ability to utilize Project Management Institute’s best practices for project management
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong analytical skills
• Skill in communicating effectively with internal and external customers, verbally and in writing.
• Skill in Microsoft Office applications including MS Project, Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Be a self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-passed environment and manage competing deadlines.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
•Ability to use sound judgment to identify problems, generates and evaluates alternative solutions, and makes recommendations.
•Ability to work well independently yet works cohesively within the section to maintain project timelines, documentation, and relationships.
3.3 Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or another related field. Or equivalent work experience. Preference will also be given to applicants with experience working with state agencies and following Department of Management’s Project Management and Oversight guidelines.
