Network Architect (CCNA/CNE/MCSE) with LAN/WAN, storage/retrieval/restoration, telecommunications, DR, security and courts experience

Location: Salt Lake City UT (Utah State Courts)
Duration: 6 months

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of desktop, WAN, LAN network operating systems, network topology, network hardware and software, and network security systems,
Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of computer data storage, retrieval, and/or restoration,
The ability to work with personal computers, servers, network and/or telecommunications equipment through documented telecommunications technical training or full time work experience in a technical environment.
The ability to create, manage, and meet schedules and deadlines,
The ability to perform physical installation, removal or troubleshooting of equipment components.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Infrastructure Support Specialists in this position must document:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and three years of relevant work experience, or
An associate or technical degree in computer science, telecommunications, or electronic equipment and five years relevant work experience in a technical environment, and
Completion of CNE, MCSE, CCNA or other applicable industry standard certification.

Summary
Infrastructure Architects plan, design, implement, support and administer the infrastructure systems of the court. These systems include LAN, WAN, electronic mail, servers, desktop personal computers and their operating and application support systems. The position involves hardware and software design and setup, trouble-shooting hardware and software problems, consulting with court personnel to determine automation requirements, and developing applicable hardware and software systems necessary to meet these identified needs.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Develop processes and procedures to ensure business continuity, disaster recovery, and develop applicable backup and restore procedures to promote uninterrupted service and rapid recovery from systems failures,
Design, develop, configure, and install hardware and software to include systems and network operating systems, applications, data, file, and print servers, communication gateways, network operating hardware and appropriate application software,
Provide direct customer support to users of the court’s network and computing systems,
Identify security issues and develop system responses to monitor security violations and protect the court systems from unauthorized or unwarranted intrusion,
Establish procedures to back-up all court data and develop procedures to create and monitor file logs and reports, and resolve any problems that arise,
Monitor infrastructure performance and troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and/or telecommunications problems,
Mentor infrastructure support staff and provide instruction and training on hardware and software installed on the court’s computing system,
Develop appropriate operational and tactical project plans, develop applicable tasks, and direct other support staff toward the completion of those tasks,
Administer systems hardware and software including operational systems version control and application of patches and PTFs to ensure systems software is maintained at current release levels,
Evaluate systems environments, make recommendations, implement server consolidation and establish partitions to ensure the operation of stable and responsive applications,
Evaluate new hardware and software products for possible use by the court system,
Attend training and review trade journals to maintain current technological knowledge within the field, and identify how new technology can support court applications,
Maintain emergency maintenance activities and data backup,
