To serve as a System Administrator for the specific suite of software products from Manage Engine. The System Administrator for the Manage Engine suite of software products will support the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) Network Operations Security Center (NOSC), and will have knowledge and experience in specific software modules of the Manage Engine software suite to include Manage Engine Service Desk Plus, Operations Manager, Application Manager, and Asset Explorer.
A- Configuration of the Manage Engine software products – The System Administrator will provide technical assistance and support for continual enhancements and configuration of existing Manage Engine software products that includes Service Desk Plus, Operations Manager Plus, Application Manager, and Asset Explorer.
(1) SOFTWARE MODULE: Manage Engine Service Desk Plus
DESCRIPTION: The System Administrator will configure and administer the Manage Engine Service Desk Plus software that includes a service catalog, self service portal, incident management, and request fulfillment. The System Administrator will also integrate Manage Engine Service Desk Plus with Manage Engine Operations Manager, Manage Engine Applications Manager, and Manage Engine Asset Explorer
(2) SOFTWARE MODULE: Manage Engine Operations Manager
DESCRIPTION: The System Administrator will configure and administer the Manage Engine Operations Manager software with out-of-the box capabilities for monitoring networks, servers, IP addresses, and switch ports, managing bandwidth and network configurations, analyzing firewall rules, logs & policies, tracking application usage & monitoring storage devices. The System Administrator will support User Management, Discovering network resources, classifying devices on maps, integration with vendor data feeds, integration with other applications, alerting faults, and general maintenance functions. The Manage Engine Operations Manager is an integrated IT operations management solution that eliminates the need for multiple monitoring tools and provides greater visibility across the IT infrastructure. (3) SOFTWARE MODULE: Manage Engine Applications Manager
DESCRIPTION: The System Administrator will configure and administer the Manage Engine Applications Manager software which is an application performance monitoring software that provides deep visibility into the performance and user experience of your business-critical applications and infrastructure components. The System Administrator will use the Manage Engine Applications Manager software to help isolate and resolve performance issues across the entire application stack quickly – from the URL to the line of code – with minimal overhead, before your customers are affected. The System Administrator will also use the Manage Engine Application Manager software to set up monitoring for resources, monitoring for custom applications, configuration of thresholds and actions, and overall administration options. The System Administrator will integrate the Manage Engine Application Manager software with Manage Engine Service Desk Plus
(4) SOFTWARE MODULE: Manage Engine Asset Explorer
DESCRIPTION: The System Administrator will configure and administer the Manage Engine Asset Explorer software which is a web-based IT Asset Management (ITAM) software that helps monitor and manage assets in the network from Planning phase to Disposal phase. The System Administrator will use the Manage Engine Asset Explorer software to manage software & hardware assets, ensure software license compliance and track purchase orders & contracts. The System Administrator will integrate the Manage Engine Asset Explorer software with Manage Engine Service Desk Plus
B- Customer Service – Provide fast and useful technical assistance on Manage Engine software product support. Answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them. Have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. The goal is to create value for NOSC staff.
