Mainframe Operator with CA-7, z-Series, JES2, ticketing and MS Office experience

position requires the ability to work any shift according to the staffing needs as a mainframe operator. 1st shift 7:00am – 4:00pm, 2nd shift is 4:00pm-12:00am and 3rd shift is 12:00am to 8:00am
Hours for this opening is 4pm-12am.
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
Candidate will provide advanced level operations of IBM z-Series Mainframe computer using CA-7 and Jes 2 commands. Candidate must be able to successfully operate and monitor console systems to include performance of weekly IPLs and assistance with CA 7 schedule reviews in addition to troubleshooting of issues to ensure completion of production job runs. Must be able to oversee completion of spreadsheets, e-mails, shift-logs and operations’ nightly service desk tickets. Must assist in scheduling computer operations staff for proper coverage and help monitor job performance to ensure customers’ needs are met on both server and mainframe platforms.
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following:
– Monitor multiple mainframe consoles for separate LPARs and server platforms in a 24 X 7 X 365 day operation
– Manage and oversee successful completion of production batch/IT processing according to requirements, supporting both mainframe and server platforms
– Operate master control consoles, coordinate computer operations activities, meet time deadlines and job work flow processes
– Monitor and oversee continuous production on mainframe and server systems to determine equipment and program failure for Data Center customers
– Perform system bypass, job restart, recovery activities, oversee shift logs, and service desk ticketing needs
– Assist in scheduling computer operations staff & monitor staff leave requests to ensure proper coverage for monitoring and meeting customer needs
– Candidate will be required to work various shifts as scheduling needs dictate, to include holidays
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School education and 10 years computer operations experience
