The State Corporation Commission (SCC) seeks a talented contract Business Analyst to join the Project Management Office (PMO) within its Information Technology Division (ITD) for a one year engagement. The selected candidate for this position will serve as a business analyst on IT infrastructure and software development projects, elicit and document requirements, assist with project coordination and system testing, and produce process diagrams/documentation. The primary focus of this position is to assist the customers in defining business problems and building scoping documents and proposals within the project management lifecycle. The work will vary, and could consist of COTS software implementations; custom-developed software; hardware implementations and other efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
– Collaborate with SCC divisions/customers to identify business problems, opportunities, and improvements
and to specify business requirements
– Initiate, facilitate, and maintain contact with customers to ensure that requirements are understood and met
– Advise customers on alternatives to meet business needs and opportunities
– Assist in interpreting, analyzing, and reporting business system data
– Identify and recommend process improvements in business systems
– Share and transfer technical/business knowledge with other team members
– Collaborate with peers and management in business and technical areas in the resolution of business system issues
– Work with Procurement to define requirements for RFPs
