Hybrid Public Health Administrator with SAS/R, MS Access, Tableau/data visualization, REDCap, clinical laboratory/microbiology and medical/laboratory records review experience

Public Health Administrator 1 Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, statistics, or health informatics.
OR:
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in a health science, biomedical science, or environmental science field with experience equivalent to two years’ work experience in epidemiology.

Desired Qualifications:
•Experience writing statistical and analytical programming code in SAS or R
•Experience in MS Office, Excel, Access
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Experience with developing data visualizations using Tableau
•Experience developing, maintaining, and entering and extracting data from REDCap databases
•Background in clinical laboratory (microbiology)
•Experience in reviewing medical records and/or laboratory reports

Position Description:
The Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance (HAI/AR) Program within the Communicable and Environmental Diseases and Emergency Preparedness (CEDEP) division of the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) is currently seeking Public Health Administrator 1 position. This position is currently funded from year to year through CDC cooperative agreements (grants). Some in-state and out of state travel is required.

The Public Health Administrator (PHA) 1 will administrate HAI program activities. This position will manage data and conduct evaluations and studies with data generated from various HAI/AR surveillance as well as participate in Emerging Infections Program (EIP) projects.

Job duties will include:
Creating data visualizations of statewide CRE tends and of other HAI/AR reportable conditions
Participating in data collection, entry, cleaning, and analysis for CRE surveillance and other HAI/AR related projects
Monitoring collection, data quality, and analysis of antimicrobial use and susceptibility data from laboratories and healthcare facilities across the state, including the use of REDCap, and the NHSN Antimicrobial Use (AU) module

Collaborating with the Tennessee state public health laboratory to enhance clinical laboratory engagement across the state.
Preparing and delivering reports, scientific articles, and presentations on Tennessee statewide CRE surveillance to local, state, and national partners.
Assisting in the preparation of grant applications, progress reports, scientific articles and presentations, and other deliverables

Participating in HAI- and MDRO-related projects, including an Emerging Infections Program (EIP) point prevalence study of HAIs and antimicrobial use, onsite and remote validation of HAI data, and other special projects as needed
Hosting student interns on the CRE surveillance data entry team.
