The Planning Data Solutions section in Transportation & Mobility Planning Division (TMPD) manages and administers the State Planning System (SPS) database. The selected candidate will assist the Transportation and Mobility Planning Division (TMPD) in accomplishing the following responsibilities, but are not limited to: 1) provide with highly quantitative and analytical skills to assist with data management, analysis, mapping, visualization, and reporting, 2) research, compile, extract, organize, and analyze large amounts of data associated with the Division’s core systems and processes, 3) provide overall geo-spatial data management support to the Division’s programs by developing, maintaining, and updating databases, and 4) perform spatial analyses, produce reports according to customer specifications, and conduct specialized technical work in support of complex GIS applications. The candidate should be familiar with ESRI ArcGIS products, Python, and/or Oracle for data mining information.
Job Requirements:
• Ability to perform specialized technical work in support of complex GIS applications and implement geodatabases
• Ability to perform spatial analyses and produce reports according to customer specifications
• Experience assisting in the development of geographic information systems that create, maintain, or leverage geospatial base-map information.
• Ability to conduct geographic information system (GIS) program activities, utilizing GIS hardware and software to produce models, maps, spatial databases, and thematic data
• Experience documenting procedures and validating data for accuracy and completeness
• Considerable experience with ESRI ArcGIS Software (Desktop and extensions)
