SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
SCDHHS is seeking an expert Data Analyst to work directly with the Enterprise Operations Team to perform technical data analysis and modelling activities in support of the implementation of the MES data integration hub strategy.
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
The MES Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing and documenting the data structures of enterprise systems of record. The Data Analyst will be responsible for creating canonical data models for the data integration hub. This position will provide data-based technical analysis on structures, metadata, data types, valid values, and mastering rules for MES solutions.
We are looking for candidates who are highly organized, can work independently in a fast-paced environment, and can articulate the proper use of data elements to drive data integration projects.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Work alongside appropriate staff, teams, stakeholders and other points of contact as required, to understand the goals and objectives of complex information systems
2. Analyze and document data requirements and relationships.
3. Analyze and document business rules and requirements.
4. Use feedback from technical and non-technical users to enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
5. Use complex thinking and analysis to sift through large amounts of data to extract pertinent insights.
6. Create data models and related documents.
Program Experience:
Experience should include success in analyzing and modelling enterprise level data in a health care domain.
Experience should include working with Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifable Information (PII).
Experience working in an Agile framework is preferred.
Technical Experience:
Experience with any or all the following technologies is desirable for this position:
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, including experience with AWS components such as DynamoDB, Athena, S3, Redshift, and Kinesis.
• Experience with UML data modelling for relational databases, NoSQL document data stores, and Data Lakes using common data modelling tools such as SPARX.
• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL query tools.
• Working knowledge of JSON and XML.
• Data analysis and visualization using technology such as Tableau.
• Big Data and NoSQL technologies such as MarkLogic, MongoDB, and Hadoop.
• Experience with Master Data Management.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
