5 Hands on software quality assurance, test automation, web application development or closely related experience
5 Hands on software quality assurance (manual and/or automated testing) experience using one or more of HP Unified Functional Testing (UFT), SoapUI, Selenium, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), Micro Focus Product Portfolio Management (PPM), SQL, or similar tools.
3 Proficiency with UNIX (Solaris), Linux and Windows operating systems
3 Excellent technical problem-solving skills
3 Knowledge of QA automation best practices.
Strong Excellent oral and written communication skills

Graduation from an accredited College or University with a master’s degree in IT
HHSC Social Services Applications division is seeking a Test Automation/ QA Analyst who has a proven track record in performing software quality assurance for high-performance enterprise software solutions using Agile methodologies.
In this position, you will develop, enhance, maintain, and execute software quality assurance plans for the TIERS applications portfolio.
You will be responsible for performing business and technical analyses, test design, test plan & scenario development including development of automated test suites, testing, and defect repair among other responsibilities. Utilizing Agile development practices, you will participate in backlog grooming & user story development; test application code; and work together with other teams in support of application enhancements planned to support new program & business requests and to enhance Scalability & Stability of the applications.
In addition, you will provide application operations triage support to troubleshoot & resolve issues encountered in production, development, and test environments. This responsibility includes both workday and night/weekend on-call support as required to maintain high availability of the applications for various users.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop test automation using scripting languages.
2. Execute QA tests using scripts that automatically test functionality.
3. Identify opportunities for automation within software processes.
4. Identify bugs and quality issues in development, service or business processes.
5. Collaborate with other business units to understand how automation can improve workflow.
6. Gather requirements from clients, customers or end-users to develop the best automation solutions.
7. Participate in weekly on call role rotations for supporting deployments and critical issues after hours.
