Duration: 12 Months
Candidate location: Candidates must be residents of SC, NC, or GA AND be willing to relocate within 40 miles of Blythewood, SC prior to their start date at their own expense.
This position will total 37.5 Hours per Week – there is potential for being on call outside of regular business hours and on weekends on an as needed basis for outages.
Candidates will be required to travel to various SCDMV Field Offices during work hours. A Valid SC Driver’s License is REQUIRED for this position. A state vehicle will be provided for travel.

• 10+ years of experience with Cisco firewalls
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco routers
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco switches
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN
• 10+ years of experience with Cisco administration
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls
• 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto XDR
Preferred Skills
• 10+ years of experience with knowledge of monitoring and tracing tools
• 10+ years of experience in core network architecture
• 10+ years of experience with advanced troubleshooting, routing, and switching
• 4+ years of experience with wireless networks
• 3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure

Job Description:
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is looking for a skilled Network
Administrator Consultant who will act as a point of reference for the Network Operations
Center team on technical issues. While reporting to the Network Operations Center
Manager, the Network Administrator Consultant will work on assignments that are complex
in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems, making recommendations, and
implementing changes with little to no supervision. In alignment with SCDMV standards,
this position contributes advanced technical expertise to support and strengthen daily
NOC operations.
DAILY DUTIES:
Daily duties include managing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a statewide
network infrastructure built upon a foundation of various solutions, such as Cisco/Meraki,
Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, and Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix technologies.
The Sr. Network Engineer will be proactive in their approach to monitor network
performance, ensure efficient communication across the network, review and improve
security compliance through cybersecurity best practices, and implement updates or
changes to maintain optimal connectivity and secure version compliance.
Candidate will be part of a multi-team environment and must have the ability to work as
part of those teams and must have the ability to support multiple tasks at the same time, in
a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The candidate will work closely with technical teams
and should be able to provide knowledge transfer and informal training to peers where
appropriate.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform the configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of networking
products.
• Troubleshoot network failures and identify network problems.
• Network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and support.
• Maintain network diagrams and other network documentation.
• Provide configuration, troubleshooting and problem resolution support.
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues in a complex, voice-integrated infrastructure.
