The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is seeking a District IT Support Specialist. The District IT Support Specialist provides technical and help desk support that is out-of-scope and not provided by the Office of Information Management (OIM) and VITA/NG at the health district. The position serves as the point of contact for the district with OIM and VITA/NG. The candidate will be the "subject matter" expert related to agency wide applications, and serve as the District Security Officer. The candidate will be responsible for conducting inventory of technology equipment and supports equipment deemed out of the scope of VITA/NG to include audio, visual, telecommunications, and stand-alone printers. This position provides user training as necessary. Provides staff training, data analytics, reporting, GIS coding and mapping as well as development of the internal databases and spreadsheets using tools such as the Microsoft Office Suite, etc. This roll will be supporting the staff at the Hampton and Peninsula Health Districts (HPHDs). Other duties as assigned.
