•Develop a DATA QUALITY evaluation and improvement strategy for use across the Department regarding DATA integrity, timeliness, accuracy, consistency, and completeness
NOTE- this is NOT a standard software quality assurance/tester role. The focus is on DATA quality and improvement, through workflow, user interface, data validation, and culture change.
•Work with Data Stewards from each Division to implement data quality evaluation and improvement
•Work with Data Stewards to develop and document business rules for datasets
•Train and educate Departmental staff on data quality importance and best practices
•Perform statistical tests on large datasets to determine data quality and integrity in collaboration with Business Units
•Evaluate system performance and design, as well as its effect on data quality.
•Collaborate with database and software developers to improve data collection and storage processes.
• Analyze existing software interfaces and user workflows to identify and eliminate factors that allow data quality problems to be introduced
•Write scripts for data cleaning.
•Report data analysis findings to management to inform business decisions and prioritize information system needs.
•Document processes and maintain data records.
•Keep abreast of developments and trends in data quality analysis.
