The Technical Specialist is a senior level resource with specialized knowledge and experience in a specific technology.
***The candidate will be allowed to work remotely for the duration of the engagement.
*** Contractors who live outside of North Carolina will not be issued any state computer equipment. They are required to use DIT’s Citrix Remote PC system, and their personal or vendor provided computer equipment to access DIT’s systems.
The NCDIT is seeking an Senior Level Technical Specialist for a 12-month engagement. We are in the process of upgrading and maintaining several Microsoft Development Language (MDL) applications that are used by various engineering groups within the Division of Highways, such as Location and Surveys, Roadway Design, Hydraulics, etc.). We are seeking an expert in C# and MDL programming with experience in the use of Microstation and Open Roads Design (ORD), as well as expert-level knowledge of the Microsoft Visual Studio development platform. Extensive knowledge of engineering concepts involving roadway design and surveying highly desirable. This position is assigned to New Hope Center.
The candidate will work on converting applications written using C# & MDL for use with Microstation to be adapted for use with ORD.
Required Skills
•College or university graduate with a degree in information technology, engineering or computer science
•Experience in application development in MDL and C#
•Experience in the use of Microstation and Open Roads Design (ORD)
•Experience with Microsoft Technologies, particularly Microsoft Visual Studio
