Conduct an initial Risk Assessment of the Healthcare delivery system to include both the manual and electronic transmission of PHI.A minimum of 10 years combined experience actively working either as a HIPAA Compliance Officer or Specialist with at least 4 of those years spent working as a HIPAA Consultant. Develop a plan of action that is designed to demonstrate the steps, requirements and action necessary for the agency to meet all applicable compliance requirements. Develop HIPPA compliant policy and procedures that meet all HIPAA/HITECH regulatory requirements at the agency, division and unit levels. Provide multi-level staff training program. Provide an appropriate organizational structure that will best support the facilitation of HIPAA compliance. Conduct periodic reviews/mini assessments to monitor adherence to compliance requirements.
4 year college degree in Information Technology or similar degree background. Preference: Certified HIPAA Privacy Security Expert/CHPSE or commensurate industry recognized certification..
