Project Information:
This contract is for one contract Senior Information Analyst position being offered within Technical Services serving Corrections and the Board of Pardons.
The Information Analyst will be provided with state-issued computer equipment that is configured with the state’s required profiles, security access methodologies and authentication, and will have access to the tools and licenses necessary to work as a member of the development unit.
This project position does not require prior analyst experience in the criminal justice, corrections or parole field. The emphasis is on experience and skill as a software application development Senior Information Analyst/project lead.
With the expectation of some in-person, on site meetings and working sessions, restrictions on issued equipment and secure network access, the developer must be located within the State of Utah. Nonetheless, normal activities are remote work.
Position and Role:
This Contract Senior Information Analyst will work under contract in the Department of Technology Services Application Development Unit that directly serves the Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) and the Board of Pardons and Parole (BOPP). Although the work is mostly remote, the unit does have an office co-located within the Correction’s Administration Building in Draper, Utah.
This team is responsible for developing and maintaining new and existing web-based applications to meet the UDC’s and the BOPP’s operational and administrative needs. (See attachement in posting for more information)
Under the Senior Project Manager, the Information Analyst plays a project lead role in facilitating and documenting the project processes, the analysis and technical specifications, followed by coordinating the coding activities and the testing cycles. The Analyst, together with an assigned, agency-side Business Analyst lead a development team in a track of projects on the core, mission-critical software applications. The team(s) include Developers, Database Administrators, Internal testers, and a network of Subject Matter Experts. Together, they collaborate through well-organized and established development processes and tools. This position requires a strong level of project leadership, facilitation, and documentation skills, with a depth of experience in web application development.
