The Department of Technology Services (DTS) Unit assigned to the Utah Department of
Corrections (UDC) and the Board of Pardons and Parole (BOPP), is in need of supplementing
its in-house development staff with one or more contracted application development web
programmers, Information analysts, or other development positions. The immediate need
for a programmer exists due to a continuing heavy demand from both agencies for system
modifications and enhancements to the O-TRACK (Offender Tracking) System, other
offender-based web applications and supplementary administrative systems.
The contracted position is to work, as part of the programming unit team in fulfilling
programming requirements primarily in the O-TRACK system. It may have assignments in
other web applications, and may provide support to either UDC or BOPP. These
requirements are projected to extend for between three to five years. Project management
and business analysis are provided by in-house staff. Contractors will telework remotely OFF
SITE, with limited office/conference room accommodations at the UDC Administration
Building in Draper, Utah and will use agency provided equipment and development tools.

Rating criteria:
30%-Experience developing and maintaining computer software applications and programs using Java-based, Web languages, tools and technologies, including: Java, Spring, Struts, Hibernate, HTML, JPA, Javascript, JQuery, Informix or similar databases, Java IDEs, Subversion, RedMine.
40%-3 years or more advanced experience working on mission critical system(s) in the Criminal Justice field. Preferred direct experience in Corrections and Board of Pardons and Parole applications.
