Experience in education data systems and environments is a plus
PROJECT DETAILS The preferred candidate will work with the MDE Infrastructure team to provision, support, and monitor resources in the MDE public cloud. Primary work will be in support of, but not limited to, the MSIS 2.0 project.
JOB DESCRIPTION This position requires a qualified Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to assist and/or lead in the following tasks:
• Provision compute, database, network, and storage resources in the public cloud presence of MDE
• Implement new and enhance existing security protocols in the public cloud space for MDE. This would include certificates, encryption of data at-rest and in-transit.
• Manage cloud networking resources like virtual networks, firewall appliances, and application gateways
• Integrate any new developments with Azure Active Directory for identity management.
• Implement resource scaling, both vertical and horizontal for key compute resources.
• Implement a Shared Nothing Architecture and ensure key resources are redundant and geographically dispersed for high availability
• Possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Address any security and privacy audit findings
• Coordinate security/privacy efforts with the agency’s Director of Infrastructure.
