Required Skills/Experience
Experience with e-government applications devleopment
Experience with the following: adopt open JDK 8, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, Maven, and Apache Tomcat 9
Experience managing projects and teams
Experience with MVC frameworks
Preferred/Not Required
Experience with developing and supporting systems for the processing and imaging of county records.
Experience with developing and supporting systems for labor exchange.
This is a remote position. Contractor will work between 10-40 hours/week. Can work outside normal business hours of 8-5pm but there may be times they have to work during business hours. MSU will provide a heads of if/when that occurs. Please see attached job description.
Contractor will assist an existing team with the development and maintenance activities of case management
systems for state and local government. The work will be performed on multi-user web applications that
make use of a traditional N-Tier or MVC based architecture.
Systems are already in production and contractor will assist in adding functionality to existing applications as
well as building new features and enhancing existing ones.
NSPARC is a research center at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. Selected contractor will be
expected to work with a diverse team of developers, project managers, UI designers, and database architects.
Responsibilities will include:
-Develop and implement business requirements
-Design solutions to solve complex business problems
-Analyze and troubleshoot defects within existing applications
-Maintain and support existing applications
-Enhance existing applications based on new business requirements
-Support Business Analysts with understanding business needs and acquiring QA and UAT approval signoffs
-Support Network and System Administrators with building and deploying the applications
-Proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating scope, design, development issues and
recommending potential solutions
