VCE is looking to bring on a contractor to work in a blended Sys Admin/Help Desk role supporting correctional facilities across the state.
This individual will be a point of contact for correctional facilities staff with any onsite help desk related issues or system admin tasks.
This person will be required to take training on driving state owned vehicle. The vehicle will be used to drive from VCE’s HQ to the destinations and back.
This person will be responsible for:
-Monitoring the help desk
-Ensure proper installation,configuration and operation of VCE staff offender computers, servers and software in corrections environment.
-Asset management
-Understanding and troubleshooting of COTS software applications.
Example of a typical day: If one of the facilities is getting a new server, this individual would be responsible for preparing the server, coordinating the delivery with the staff of the facility, and assisting with the installation (if needed).
Skills:
-Experience configuring and implementing Windows Workstation,Server technology.
-Considerable experience with computer,server and software technologies.
-Considerable experience in assisting users in a diverse work environment
-Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS,DHCP File Shares)
-Experience using help desk software .
-Experience securing computer system using Active directory group policies.
