The AWS Cloud Administrator will work closely with the Senior AWS Administrator to support a well-architected, modern AWS environment that powers about 50 key Drupal websites and applications as a part of the Digital Commons platform.

This position is assigned to the Digital Solutions team of the Department of Information Technology Services and will provide operational and technical support for a modern infrastructure-as-a-service platform (Amazon Web Services).
The AWS Cloud Administrator will work closely with the Senior AWS Administrator to support a well-architected, modern AWS environment that powers about 50 key Drupal websites and applications as a part of the Digital Commons platform. You will work with key AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, as well as support web/digital operations such as handling redirect requests and code deployments.
The Digital Solutions technical team works in a DevOps-oriented fashion and leverages tools such as TeamCity and TerraForm. The Cloud Administrator will also work closely with Drupal/PHP Developers who build, test, deliver, and manage modern, scalable, and secure web and digital solutions. In addition, the candidate will interface with our platform team, who onboard new websites and services to the Drupal platform for our agency partners.
The candidate will not simply be in a corner taking tasks, but contributing ideas, feedback, best practices, and his or her hard work to help us build, grow, and manage a 21st century web and digital presence for North Carolina state government.

•Research, promote, and implement DevOps-oriented solutions that leverage AWS services and product to meet state agency and citizen needs.
•Contribute to automation of systems and services to deliver solutions rapidly, securely, and at scale.
•Develop and operationalize continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) processes and methodologies.
•Improving our security posture
•Manage web and application operations such as URL redirects and SSL domains.
•Provide day-to-day technical support for AWS platform.
•Assist with continual improvement of process and procedures.
•Handling customer support tickets of a backend/hosting nature
