IMPORTANT TO SHARE WITH YOUR CANDIDATE BEFORE SUBMITTING: For now, most of the team at VEC is working remotely, HOWEVER, the expectation will be that once offices re-open (in the Fall), these consultants will work ON SITE 1-2 days a week (no exceptions). Therefore, the selected candidates will be required to pick up equipment IN PERSON (if selected) and agree to working 1-2 days a week ON SITE starting in September.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of this position is to evaluate and analyze current business processes in Virginia Employment Commission for integration into the projects led and maintained by IT department.
In supporting this objective, this position will interact with VEC staff, community partners, and other state stake holders. This position will be responsible for understanding and interpreting various program business rules, policy regulations, understanding current interfaces and vision to utilize such interfaces in a more effective way to enhance the technological experience for citizens, federal, state, and local partners.
Translates business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to such specifications. May also be called on to assist in documenting business processes
Responsibilities also include:
-Technical and Functional Expertise: Analyze user needs; develop empirical measurements to evaluate the adequacy & accuracy of new systems processes; researches statistical or case management data; observes & documents processes; and modifies systems specifications.
-UML – Sequence Diagram, Class Diagram
-Familiarity with SQL Server
-Automation Testing using VSTS
-Results Focus: Analyze fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular function through possessing and applying a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures of particular function, to the completion of assignments.
-Thorough knowledge of a Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
-Identifying and Confirming User Requirements
-Business Process Re-engineering concepts
-Skills in communicating effectively orally and in writing with all levels of customers
-Ability to perform UAT and test documentation
