Senior frontend developer passionate about creating beautiful, usable, and accessible digital experiences. This position will participate in the development, testing, and architecture of the State of Michigan design system by creating enterprise-grade, reusable web components. This design system will be used across State of Michigan development teams to create highly impactful projects serving millions of users. Additionally, this position will join a small team of designers and developers creating custom applications for a variety of business functions.
Duties will include:
Extensive knowledge and understanding JavaScript. Required 5 Years
Expert experience building component-based JavaScript applications utilizing one or more of the following frameworks: VueJS, Angular, ReactDesired 3 Years
Experience building semantic, accessible HTML markup Required 5 Years
Experience building well organized CSS using a pre-processor such as SASS Required 3 Years
Demonstratable experience building highly functional user experiences for complex business functions. Required 3 Years
Familiarity with git and branch and merging strategies Required 3 Years
Experience developing and testing for accessibility using the WCAG 2.0 AA standard Highly desired 2 Years
Experience developing geospatial applications using ESRI SDK Nice to have 1 Years
Experience developing web components using StencilJS or Polymer Nice to have 1 Years
Experience with .NET C# and SQL Server Nice to have 1 Years
Experience developing native mobile applications and app store deployment. Nice to have 1 Years
– Working with stakeholders to derive and write functional requirements and specifications.
– Developing application logic while interfacing with backend API’s utilizing JavaScript frameworks.
– Creating maintainable and scalable CSS that functions across browsers and platforms.
– Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability
– Promoting usability best practices while maintaining enterprise branding.
