SCCM Admin/Desktop Support Engineer with active directory, VMWare, .net, networking and Windows experience

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
• Advanced experience with SCCM, packaging & deployment for many types of software
• Working experience in large scale SCCM deployments using SCCM task sequences
• In-depth knowledge of active directory, group policy objects, batch, & PowerShell
• Advanced knowledge & expertise with Windows OS – registry, profiles, services & components, file system & application compatibility
• Experience in desktop administrative and engineering application support, & supporting operating systems in a Microsoft enterprise environment
• Excellent customer support and experience in supporting a diverse customer base
• Extensive knowledge in information security to include windows security policies, licensing, digital certificates, file permissions, and AD security
• Experience with VMWare, virtual machines, configuration manager & remote computing
• Knowledge of general application architectures & .NET Framework technologies
• Solid understanding of networking concepts
• Proven strong analytical & troubleshooting skills
• Detailed oriented & good time management
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work effectively & independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate clearly, & concisely, both verbally & in writing

• Ability to work after-hours or weekend as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
• A high school diploma & experience in office automation system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing information in a data processing environment or related systems. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
• 5 years of supporting a diverse customer base
• 5 years of desktop administrative and engineering software support
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT desktop software roles
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Windows desktop operating systems within a corporate environment
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with application packaging using SCCM and Windows installer technologies

PREFERRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree & applicable technical certifications preferred
• Microsoft certifications highly preferred
• 10 years of experience with application packaging using SCCM and Windows installer technologies

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Manages the patching, software distribution, deployments, upgrades, fixes, enhancements, licensing, and reporting for the administrative and engineering software environments in SCCM. Creates large-scale SCCM software packages and deliverables for users in the headquarters and district offices statewide. Develops 3rd party application packages & software distribution using PowerShell scripting. Works with software vendors to troubleshoot software distribution issues & deployment packages.
2. Supports the installation, operation, maintenance, configuration, deployment, & troubleshooting of advanced engineering software, CADD desktop applications, & configurations including but, not limited to CADD (Autodesk, Bluebeam, Microstation & Carlson) GIS (ESRI & Geomedia), bridge, civil, geotechnical, hydrology, structural, and traffic software disciplines.
3. Implements, configures & manages the engineering software license servers such as Flexlm, Sentinel/Wladmin, Codemeter, cloud and vendor proprietary license manager utilities. Manages, maintains & upgrades server-mounted engineering software applications. Coordinates with the ITS Systems staff to transfer license services to new servers when server upgrades are needed & coordinates with users to ensure client software is working with the license server.
4. Creates and maintains documentation related to all aspects of server/client installations/licensing, & organizes all deployment packages & software installations in the appropriate deployment network shares.
5. Monitors software related help desk tickets issued by the IT Help Desk & assists with the resolution requests. Provides software installation support and troubleshooting for end-users.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
