The Database Administrator is responsible for data analysis and database management. Database Administrators typically are involved in maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning. Database Administrators have a range of skills and knowledge of the utilities and production tools used for data storage management to support the Application Team. This position is intended to be extended past 06/30/2021 if budgeting permits.
Specifically, this position will aid the delivery of database platforms and work on enhancing the team’s readiness to manage SQL Server in multiple agencies.
The person in this role will perform project-specific activities such as:
1.Add and manage data for the SQL Server inventory.
2.Evaluate databases and identify those with special security considerations, external components, SQL Agent Jobs, etc. and notify L&I DBA for a remediation plan
3.Assist in testing changes and application deployments
4.Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with regular status reports
5.Perform routine SQL Server Administration and Maintenance Tasks
6.Migrate databases from development and production environments
7.Evaluate and identify database performance issues and outline opportunities for improvement
8.Ensure migrated databases are successfully, backed up and maintain backup documentation
9.Respond to events and incidents updating documentation and response
