Required Skills
– At least 5-7 years relevant experience in frontend design work
– Ability to create HTML pages that use CSS and Javascript
– Familiar with HTML standards, CSS, Jquery, and Javascript
– Able to develop custom sites in WordPress based on designs and wireframes provided by graphic designer
– Able to code web pages using the Bootstrap framework conventions
– Work in Windows, Mac, and Linux environments
– Fluent in valid HTML / CSS and able to use build systems such as SASS or LESS
– Clear understanding of preparing graphics for a website (resolution, color depth, appropriate formats for different uses, etc.)
– Able to create sites that are compliant with ADA guidelines
– Familiar with open source plugins and plugin management in WordPress
Preferred
Awareness of and ability to upgrade skills to address frontend design standard changes, browser updates, and usability standards
Familiarity with PHP, especially relating to WordPress development

Contractor will assist the NSPARC Communications Manager with the re-development of the NSPARC WordPress website. NSPARC is a research center at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS.
Responsibilities will include:
– Development – Develop and implement design requirements
– Troubleshoot – Analyze, troubleshoot and fix problems, if any, as they arise
– Test – Test and make sure the design requirements are met
– Proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating issues and recommending solutions
Contractor can conduct work outside of normal business hours but must be available during 8-5pm for project updates. Although Nov. 30th was listed as the project end date MSU prefers for this project to be completed prior to that date.
