A Project Manager is required to manage the Health Registries Assessment project. Project Manager must work closely with the program areas and IT technical teams who have developed Maven Registries or who are developing Maven Registries to ensure accurate business and technical requirements are included in a Statement of Work (SOW). Project Manager will finalize a Department of Information Resources Deliverables-Based IT Services contract with an Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) vendor to assess each Maven Registry’s ability to meet the business requirements of the programs. The agency may or may not extend the engagement with the project manager to manage the work of the vendor.

The Maven Registries are:
•Emergency Medical Services Trauma
•Birth Defects
•Child and Adult Blood Lead
•Texas Healthcare Safety Network (reported data is Healthcare Associated Infections and Preventable Adverse Events)
•Tuberculosis (TB), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) Improvement System
oThe SOW must require the assessment IV&V vendor to provide a gap analysis showing existing capabilities of the registries, and what the programs’ need that the current registries do not provide. The SOW must require the IV&V vendor to define their approach to providing an assessment based on consistent metrics.

Project Manager will plan and manage the project.

Duties:
•Owns responsibility for project’s actions and communications to Project Sponsors and an Executive Steering Committee for accomplishment of project’s objectives
•Completes project and its deliverables within the defined constraints of time, cost, and quality
•Ensures project operates within project management best practices as defined by the Health and Human Services IT Project Management Office and the Project Management Institute®
•Applies project management principles to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close project
•Develops and maintains Project Plan and additional project documentation as appropriate
•Serves as the primary point of contact for project communications and status reporting
•Recommends corrective action when necessary
•Coordinates appropriate participants’ involvement in project activities
•Ensures resources are available for project assignments to facilitate timely completion of project tasks
•Leads Integrated Project Team and Change Control Board meetings and activities
•Ensures identification and documentation of risks and issues. Develops strategies to mitigate
•Designs, plans, and coordinates work teams
•Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis
•Ensures adherences to quality standards and reviews project deliverables
•Recommends and acts to direct the analysis and solutions of problems
