Cognos BI Developer with framework manager, dynamic cubes, modeling/OLAP, JavaScript controls/prompt API/jQuery, dynamic query analyzer, Pentaho Data Integration/Kettle, Linux, DB2 and automated data refresh experience

6 At least 6 years of demonstrated experience working with Cognos
6 At least 6 years of demonstrated experience building reports, dashboards, and active reports using Cognos (at least 3 years with version 11.x)
6 At least 6 years of demonstrated experience with Cognos BI and framework manager (at least 3 years with version 11.x)
5 At least 5 years of demonstrated experience with Cognos dynamic cubes
6 At least 6 years of demonstrated experience in dimensional modeling and OLAP technologies
6 At least 6 years of demonstrated experience developing customized JavaScript controls in Cognos (at least 3 years with version 11.x, including extensive experience using the prompt API and jQuery)
3 At least 3 years of demonstrated experience building reports in Cognos with both dimensional and relational models
3 At least 3 years of demonstrated experience implementing performance improvements using the Dynamic Query Analyzer
3 At least 3 years of demonstrated experience with Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle)
6 At least 6 years of demonstrated experience writing and optimizing SQL scripts
3 At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in developing test cases for applications
6 At least 6 years of demonstrated experience working with Linux
6 At least 6 years of demonstrated experience working with IBM DB2 v10.x
3 At least 3 years of demonstrated experience working with automated data refresh processes
PREFERRED:
Preference given to candidates with the below skills/experience. Must also meet minimum requirements.
Preference will be given to candidates having at least 5 years of experience with Pentaho and Pentaho Data Integration (Kettle) and can demonstrate an advanced understanding of JavaScript and data warehouse concepts
PROJECT NAME: NSPARC Cognos BI
JOB DESCRIPTION: Contractor will assist an existing team with the completion of a data warehouse and business intelligence project. Responsibilities will include:
• Data visualization – Design, create, and modify complex Cognos reports and dashboards involving highly customized components to support business requirements
• Database management – Write, test, and modify complex queries that run efficiently
• Support Business Analysts – Understand business needs and help define requirements for reporting solutions
• Proactive and diligent in identifying and communicating scope, design, development issues and recommending potential solutions
• Should be able to work independently in a fairly autonomous environment
