Contract staff needed to help support the Network Field Services team in the installation of CAT5/6 network cabling, fiber optic cabling and network switch installations.
****The manager really needs candidates with less of a focus on Cisco switches and more of a focus on cable installations. Fiber and cat5/6 install is 80% of the job.
The Network Field Services team travels throughout the state to install the physical infrastructure to NCDOT and NCDMV buildings. Installing CAT5/6 and fiber optic cabling is the primary role. Termination and testing of CAT 5/6 and fiber optic cabling is a necessary skill set, any Cisco switch experience is a bonus. Installations may include working in attics, crawl spaces and office environments. Travel includes leaving the office at 5:00 AM when necessary and occasionally returning back to the office after 7:00 PM and if needed spending a night out. All travel will be in state owned vehicles.
