Remote/Part-time Procurement PM with Vendor management, RFP, agile/waterfall and SOS/DOS/government experience

The contractor will likely average approximately 10-15 hours per week. The contractor “could” work up to 40 hours but that would be down the road after their current project has ended. At this time they are seeking a contractor for an average of 10-15 hours per week.

Position Description and Job Skill Set
The Mississippi Secretary of State, Technology Services Division, seeks an experienced professional with a broad understanding of solutions, industry best practices, multiple business processes, or technology designs within a product/technology family. Operates independently to provide quality work to an engagement. Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment to implement to meet customer needs.
Demonstrates expertise in delivering functional and technical solutions on moderately complex engagements. Effectively consults with management. Participates in business development activities. Develops detailed solutions for relatively complex projects.
Eight years of experience relevant to this position and three years of consulting experience are preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus—the ability to communicate effectively. Knowledge and experience with State of Mississippi IT Procurement practices are required. Knowledge and experience applications and services commonly utilized and provided by the Secretary of State’s Office, such as State Election Systems and Customer Management Systems, are preferred. The ability to build rapport with team members is a must.
This position requires an individual who can oversee and manage multiple IT projects simultaneously. Projects could range from planning and delivering upgrades to applications via third-party vendors, development of RFP in collaboration with stakeholders, and similar medium to large projects of varying complexity.
This individual will also assist with procurements for the Technology Services Division and provide consulting services to the CIO, Deputy CIO, and the agency’s executive staff.
