Minimum Qualifications
• 4 years of experience with basic network functions in Virtual Telecommunications Access Method (VTAM) within the IBM z/Architecture operating system (z/OS) Fundamentals
• 4 years of experience with basic network functions in Systems Network Architecture (SNA)
• 4 years of experience with basic network functions in Advanced Peer-to-Peer Networking (APPN)
Desired Skills
• Knowledge of Timesharing Sharing Option (TSO/E), ISPF, JCL, REXX
• Knowledge of System Modification Program/Extender (SMP/E)
• Knowledge of Local/Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN network) functions and implementation
• Knowledge of z/OSMF, ATTLS
• Knowledge of networking protocols, OSPF, IP, TLS, SSH
• Knowledge of z/OSMF, ATTLS
• Knowledge of networking hardware, OSA-ICC, XCF
Sample Tasks
• Resource will monitor network health using NetMaster Network Management for Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Systems Network Architecture (SNA)
o Resolve connectivity issues from TN3270 clients
o Resolve FTP and SFTP issues
o Provide network support for Disaster Recovery exercises
o Maintain Telnet/3270 client – BlueZone

Description of Project
The Minnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) is seeking a System Analyst, who will assist with monitoring the Mainframe Network health. Resource will be expected to monitor, upgrade, and diagnose connections between varying systems. The resource is required to provide support to MNIT customers and ensure MNIT’s critical applications, and to prevent outages. Examples of specific duties can be found under the Buyer Attachments section.
