Remote Work Availability: 75%
Must be local to area because they could be traveling to another office location. Cannot be out of state or too far outside the Columbia, SC area.
Will be onsite the first two weeks for training and then as needed to that set location and other locations.

SCOPE OF WORK:
The Division of Technology Services is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and obtaining multiple mission critical service and solutions for the Department of Social Services.
The Department seeks a highly motivated individual who has the skills and experience to implement solutions and services in support of the Agency and the DSS Child Support program. This individual will work closely with the Technology Services architect, application, technical, and security teams to design, implement, and secure a stable, consistent network
DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate should demonstrate expert level skills for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a statewide network (WAN, LAN and wireless), primarily with CISCO and Meraki technology. The incumbent should be proficient on configuring and maintaining/patching CISCO firewalls ASA5508-X, ASA5585-X, FirePower4110, FirePower2120 and switches 3750, C9500, C9300, Nexus5k and Nexus7k. The applicant will also conduct remote troubleshooting with the Agency’s partners in the state’s (not SC DSS’) county IT teams, so general knowledge of a wide range of firewalls is expected.
The candidate should have hands-on experience maintaining Meraki switches, wireless access points, and firewalls (MX450); Cisco Security Manager is also required. Secondary experience in one or more of the following areas is highly preferred: CISCO ISE, .1X, AD, DNS, ADFS, PKI and PowerShell.
The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed implementation and test plans for deployment and ongoing support of Cisco/Meraki technologies along with best of breed tools and technologies related to enterprise networks. The candidate will work closely with technical teams and should be able to provide knowledge transfer and informal training to peers where appropriate.
This employee will support multiple implementation projects. For those projects where the candidate is assigned the lead role, the candidate will be responsible for managing projects from start to finish, defining the scope, driving requirements, building architectures, and working the solution from end-to-end. The candidate must be able to work with technical peers and end users, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines.
Major responsibilities of this position include the following:
• Monitors and provides support for existing statewide site-to-site tunnels infrastructure.
• Develop detailed implementation and test plans for implementing Cisco/Meraki technologies along with best of breed tools and technologies related to enterprise networks.
• Research and analyze existing software releases, as well as perform/support software upgrades.
• To accurately record, update and document requests using the IT service desk system.
• Monitor and analyze system logs and provide solutions to maintain and improve the Agency’s network performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements.
• Able to provide remote communications troubleshooting support of DSS IT systems and services (including those external to SC DSS), providing technical expertise requiring a wide range of IT device and service knowledge and experience
• Determine and communicate the implications of system-level decisions on subsystems and components and help determine how best to mitigate or take advantage of these implications.
• Determine and communicate the requirements and capabilities of components within the context of the larger system, project, and team.
