The following document contains the sample tasks and qualifications for this MNSITE 2.0 Event.
Task 1: Review of existing Architecture and network configuration needs
1.1. The contractor will review the current network architecture and network configuration. The Contractor will work with the State’s network administrator to establish an understanding of the current design and the details of the State’s needs for network architecture.
Task 1 Deliverables:
oProvide draft design of the current overall configuration
Task 2: Develop and provide recommendations for Architecture improvement
2.1. Based on the needs established in task 1, develop a proposed new architecture for the State’s RTMCnet. The proposed architecture should meet the States technical needs, identified in Task 1, and will consider existing equipment to the extent possible, and propose new equipment costs as needed to achieve network segmentation goals. Cisco equipment should be used where possible.
2.2. Prepare a phased Implementation Plan for deployment of the new architecture. The deployment plan will account for keeping the network online during the transition to the extent possible. The Implementation Plan will also account for potential phased procurement timelines of any new hardware needed. Contractor will be expected to work with any project stakeholders to obtain timelines.
Task 2 Deliverables:
oDraft of proposed architecture for review
oFinal Proposed architecture
oImplementation Plan to deploy new architecture
Task 3: Create an example proof of concept system with configuration documentation
3.1. Based on the architecture proposed in Task 2, create a proof of concept network and provide detailed documentation for configuration of all recommended devices or systems to appropriately deploy software/configuration. An example will be provided for each significantly different configuration as per the architecture in Task 2.
Task 3 Deliverables:
Demonstrate a functional proof of concept network designed from the architecture proposed in Task 2.
Documentation for example devices/systems configurations
Task 4: Training and Knowledge Transfer
Provide knowledge transfer to State employees, partners, and project stakeholders as needed, and as requested.
Contractor and Contractor’s project team should have expert knowledge of:
o Cisco Catalyst 9500 switches running routing protocols.
o Cisco IE 3000, 2000, and 4000 switches.
o Fault tolerant networks.
Experience with implementing multiple solutions of overlay networks on OSPF underlay.
Experience with a multiple customer network that has customer isolation.
Experience with technologies such as MPLS, VRF, L2TP
Experience managing projects and creating project documents for similar projects for other entities.
