Position Duties, Responsibilities, Skills, and Requirements:
The Organizational Change Manager (OCM) will lead the State System in planning ways to improve its overall migration to and adoption of an SAP Ariba implementation. This position will deliver change management, organizational design and governance, and culture- and technology-adoption solutions to ensure the attainment of a business process transformation goal. The initiative is in support of a procurement modernization project involving the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, including the Office of the Chancellor and the 14 Universities that comprise the State System.
The Organizational Change Manager will use data-driven solutions to address the human factors affecting an organization’s ability to reach its strategic objectives in migrating from a traditional SAP procurement process to a cloud-based SAP Ariba solution. The OCM will build strategies to support adoption of the changes required by the project, conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders. The OCM will also need to understand success metrics, monitor change progress, and provide updates on change readiness. The OCM will develop, direct, and deploy user-adoption and training programs to support the new technology. The OCM will also define and build a plan to address anticipated resistance, and identify development opportunities for change sponsors.
Responsibilities:
•Manage and lead change efforts as the State System migrates from its current, internal legacy procurement processes to a cloud-based SAP Ariba solution.
•Identify current- and future-state organizational design and alignment, and help users move from where they are today, to where they need to be in the future.
•Conduct coaching and training sessions, and participate in meetings with various departments.
•Facilitate internal assessment of user needs.
•Help transform the organization (and the providers that serve them) to support its business strategy.
•Assist in changing the organization’s culture, modernizing specific functions, and re-designing any applicable organizational structure, as required.
•Utilize a combination of change management actions and techniques to execute the transformation.
•Utilize data and insights to institute better ways of working together.
•Develop strategic plans, and the communications plans to successfully convey them, that ensure implementation of proposed strategies.
•Work with personnel at various levels to encourage procurement process modernization.
•Assess job descriptions and ensure that roles and responsibilities support change management objectives.
•Apply behavioral tools to assess the impact of change on organizations, using assessments of organizational culture, performance, and readiness for change.
•Define activities to support change and transition initiatives.
•Develop and deploy user-adoption/training programs to support technology implementations.
•Contribute to practice development initiatives including culture-building, internal community involvement, eminence, recruiting, whitepapers, etc.
•Work closely with SAS Finance functional staff, project manager, and designated university representatives—procurement staff, accounting staff— to ensure a comprehensive plan is in place to prepare each university community to procure using the SAP Ariba tools.
•Have strong communication skills / knowledge and have the ability to manage teams of employees, sub-contractor relationships, and client-facing relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong presales, sales, and post-sales client presentation experience, and the ability to guide teams through implementation processes such as: planning, fit/gap analysis, configuration, testing, rollout, and the post-implementation support of SAP public sector solutions.
•Be able to travel to constituents across the state system universities.
