DBA would be responsible for data analysis and database management of existing Oracle databases, including maintenance, enhancement, developing data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning; monitors and optimizes the performance of application systems databases; identifies and resolves relational database problems. Work with staff to troubleshoot and monitor systems for potential problems. Installs, configures and maintains Oracles system software and related products to ensure correct upgrades, patches and fixes are in place. DBA also responsible for ad-hoc reporting, shell scripting and automation of existing database tasks; managing physical changes to existing databases, managing access control lists (user access levels), testing and correcting errors, and correcting storage requirements to ensure no disruption in service.

Additionally, DBA would be a member of the IT team in carrying out several application initiatives/tasks currently on the table, one of which includes an Oracle upgrade.
