Role is based in Warrenton, VA. Some travel from 6951 Vint Hill Parkway, Warrenton, VA 20187 to NOVA regional DVS benefits offices required – pls go over those details with your candidate BEFORE submitting. candidate must have their own reliable transportation. The agency will reimburse them for all travel expenses directly.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE: Mgr will do initial IV via WEB however as a follow up will want to meet the candiate IN PERSON (interview location to be determined at a later date).
This role is 100% ON SITE from Day 1, with some (up to 20%) travel for up to 2 months (Warrenton, VA) to support a new site. The agency will pay for travel expenses such as mileage and lodging if needed at Warrenton for an extended period. Some travel locally is expected to the Hampton Roads area (up to 10 %) to support local Benefits offices on occasion. Any required travel will be reimbursed directly by agency. Candidate must provide proof of Driver’s License and have their own reliable transportation.
Need a skilled Desktop/Technical Support Technician to support the Department of Veterans Services’ (DVS) Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center, which is a medical facility that is being stood up. The site will host about 200 IT devices (desktops, laptops, phones, printers, mobile phones).
The candidate will assist DVS IT Management with integration, management, and support of the Information Technology program for the Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center (JCVCC) and potentially travel for up to 8 weeks to the Puller Veterans Care Center (PVCC) in Warrenton, VA, plus support some remote Veterans Benefits sites. The Candidate will independently provide IT administration and technical support for agency specific software and hardware systems. This position requires the following skills:
-Knowledge on setup, configuration, and maintenance of PC desktops, laptops, and related peripheral devices (printers, scanners, etc.)
REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Proficient knowledge of installing, troubleshooting, administering Windows Operating System, Microsoft O365, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, McAfee Anti-Virus Software, Adobe Acrobat, and other commercial business software products.
-Knowledge with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of Android and Apple mobile devices.
-Working knowledge of supporting and troubleshooting Ethernet based LAN/WAN environments, including network protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
-Expert working knowledge and experience with E-mail application installation, administration, troubleshooting and training (Google Suite, PST files, calendaring, distribution lists, etc.)
-Basic experience with IT inventory control, ticketing system and reporting.
-Basic experience with analog and digital phone configuration and troubleshooting.
-Good understanding of Network and IT security.
