Experience with Windows Server 2012,2016 Required 1 Years

*local candidates strongly preferred
*interviews will be conducted via MS Teams or Google Meet.
*candidates will telework now (after coming to office to pick up laptop). Once restrictions are lifted, candidates will be required to work onsite daily M-F 8-5pm, NO exceptions

This position will be responsible for daily operations to include technical solution delivery, application operations, and infrastructure operations.

Serve as liaison between VDOT and VITA/SAIC for infrastructure support activities, outages, issues and escalation for day-to-day server outages communicating statuses to affected areas.

Participate in meetings and communications with VITA’s Customer Account Manager and SAIC’s Account Operations Manager.

Track status of VDOT’s Open Work Requests with VITA and escalate as priority demands.

Author technical work requests documents based on agency needs and submit to VITA.

Review VITA’s Change Management tasks as they pertain to VDOT and make recommendations to VDOT’s Systems Engineering Manager for approval/disapproval.

Submit VCCC tickets, escalate based on priority with VITA as needed.

Review work request documents – Statement of Work and Cost Quotes for accuracy, submitting for final review and approval to VDOT’s Systems Engineering Manager.

Submit servers for deprovision/decommission.

Perform reconciliation of VDOT’s server bill from VITA to current server inventory.

Experience in network engineering to include analysis of network requirements and performance for a large scale network. Knowledge of data and telecommunications.

Review and update procedure documents. Attend weekly meetings with Business Relationship Managers to provide status updates and discuss upcoming needs for the agency.

Create work requests with VITA as they relate to work performed by Network Support.

Review monthly network utilization reports and make recommendations for increased performance at VDOT offices statewide.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
