The NC Department of Transportation Web Services group is seeking an Expert Level Technical Specialist UI/UX Front-End Developer/Designer for its ongoing Ferry application development needs. The person will be responsible for responsive page design, graphic asset design/development, Front-End Development with JavaScript and CSS, wireframes, creation of UI elements, and creation of layout templates based on the needs of the NCDOT Ferry unit. This contractor should have extensive experience creating public facing marketing websites, graphic editing, responsive design for all platforms, and page performance. The contractor should also be familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud, Visual Studio Code, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Vue.js, and using these tools together to manipulate the DOM.
• Maintains User Experience (UX) standards across multiple page/sites for layout and interactivity
• Experience building with Vue.js, Vuex, and Vue Router
• Experience building projects with WebPack and/or Vue CL
• Design and building of interfaces for our internal clients using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Balsamiq Mockups and text editor
• Creation/editing of accessible data-driven page templates, views, and HTML page
• Experience with Git, and/or Team Foundation Server
• Adding interactivity and animation to pages using JavaScript and CSS – all while keeping page load and responsiveness in mind at all times
• Experience developing for a wide variety of browsers and screen sizes, using progressive enhancement to give users the best possible experience for their device
• Clearly communicating status reports, in verbal and written form
• Collaborating as a dedicated team member and demonstrating the ability to clearly communicate with other team members
