Design strategy consulting, innovation, design research, product design or equivalent Required 4 Years
Experience with enterprise scale content management systems Required 2 Years
Knowledge of and experience with accessibility standards for web and mobile applications Required 3 Years
Ability to grasp complex problems, evaluating user needs, and synthesizing actionable recommendations Desired
Experience with Sketch Desired
Experience crafting and testing proof-of-concepts with customers Desired
This position will work as a thought leader driving creative solutions for a multitude of challenging problems and opportunities. The person in this position will responsible for working with project managers, developers and business owners to understand business goals, generate user insights, and translate business and user needs into highly engaging digital experiences. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What you’ll be working on:
Drive strategic branding and build a consistent design language across the enterprise by evolving the state of Michigan’s design system and component library.
Help design and implement user research and discovery process to better understand opportunities and challenges from multiple perspectives.
Synthesize insights to help our business partners to understand the problems we should be solving for.
Lead the creation of highly usable, accessible, and compelling user experiences across a variety of industries and challenges.
Aid in creating a human-centered design culture by mentoring junior resources and articulating expected outcomes to business partners and leadership.
