SQL Server DBA with data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL, TSQL, database design, documentation/coding, PTO, HA,DR, SIMS, K-12 and SQL server Database administration certification

Location: Jackson MS (MDEK12)
Duration: 14 Months
Local candidates or candidates that can relocate. Will be onsite once the team is back in the office.
3 references are required.

Required Skills/Experience

Proven working experience as a Database administrator 7
Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications 7
Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL, TSQL 7
Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically 7
Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
Familiarity with continuous integration 7
Strong hands-on Experience with the SQL server data pump, and Backup and Restore 7
Optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures 7
Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) 7
Experience with windows scripting 7
Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically 7
High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server 7
Expertise in installation, setup, and configuration of SQL Server 2017 and up

Prefered
Experience with student information management systems and K-12 data and reporting is a plus
SQL server Database administration certification

This position will require a qualified Developers to take the lead in the following tasks:
-Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role
-Monitor the database environment to maximize database availability ensuring response time service levels are achieved.
-Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
-Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
-Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
-Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and upgrade to newer versions when required
-Assist development staff, IT Support, various business units with debugging and assist in implementing database applications
-Knowledge of Unix, Linux basic commands, crontab, sudo
-Perform other duties as assigned and required
